FORMER Rangers coach Harry Watling is reportedly expected to join Rob Edwards at Wolves as his number two.
Middlesbrough reluctantly sanctioned the move for Edwards after it became clear the 42-year-old was keen to join the Premier League side.

It’s just four months after he arrived at the Riverside and the side are sitting second in the English Championship.
Watling, who was number two to Michael Beale at Rangers, took the first team alongside Adi Viveash on Saturday as Boro continued their fine start to the season with a 2-1 win over Birmingham City.
Just 90 minutes before kick off at the Riverside, Middlesbrough wrote on social media: “Middlesbrough Football Club have, subject to the completion of an agreement with Wolverhampton Wanderers FC, given head coach Rob Edwards permission to speak to Wolves.
“We initially rejected an approach from Wolves on the basis that Rob signed a three-year contract with MFC less than six months ago.

“Following discussions with Rob we were disappointed to learn that he wanted to speak with Wolves regarding their head coach vacancy.
“We have now agreed terms with Wolves, subject to completion of the relevant paperwork.“
But according to the Northern Echo, Watling is to team up with Edwards with his announcement expected imminently.
Watling was a key member of Michael Beale’s backroom team at Ibrox during his short spell in the dugout.
He previously coached in the academies at Chelsea, Millwall and West Ham, before taking on a first team role under Beale at QPR in 2022.
He also had a spell in the US as head coach of Hartford Athletic in the USL Championship in 2020 before returning to the UK in 2022 for family reasons.
Watling had a short-term stint at National League club Ebbsfleet United in September last year but departed by mutual consent before the year was out.
He then became part of Edwards’ coaching staff.
