Four new pickleball courts have been created in Camana Bay’s Festival Green to meet the demands of the popular sport.
A tennis court which was originally built for the long-running Legends at Camana Bay tennis tournament, has now been turned into four pickleball courts, with bookings available via Pickleball Cayman, the largest pickleball club on island.
Pickleball partnership
Pickleball Cayman has teamed up with Camana Bay so that bookings to the pickleball courts at Festival Green will be managed through Pickleball Cayman’s dedicated website and booking system.
In addition, pickleballs will be available for purchase at the Camana Bay Visitor Centre.
The courts are open between 7am and 10pm daily and cost $25 an hour between 7am and 5pm, and $50 an hour between 5pm and 10pm.
“Partnering with Pickleball Cayman to provide this exclusive offering, right here in the Town Centre, allows us to bring this popular sport to Camana Bay and expand our sporting facilities for our existing sporting community,” said Robert Weekley, Dart’s senior vice president of asset management.

Jerry Beck, founder of Pickleball Cayman, introduced pickleball to Cayman a few years ago, having learned to play the game in Canada during the COVID-19 pandemic.
He opened Pickleball Cayman at its site on the corner of Smith Road and Bobby Thompson Way in 2023. The club now has 11,000 registered members, making it the largest sports club in the Cayman Islands.
As the Cayman Compass recently reported, the club is hoping to expand even further and has applied for planning permission for an extra eight pickleball courts, as well as four new padel courts.
Exciting sport
“Pickleball is the newest and most exciting sport at the moment. The popularity of pickleball really took off during the pandemic and has become a hit for both the sporty, athletic person and those looking for a fun activity to try for the first time,” said Beck.
He added, “We are always looking for ways to expand our offerings to the community and when the opportunity came up to partner with Camana Bay, it was an easy decision for us. We are very excited to be part of the Camana Bay community and to bring this exclusive offering here.”
In addition to the pickleball courts on the Festival Green, the pickleball courts at Camana Bay Sports Complex remain open and accessible via the Visitor Centre at Camana Bay.
Booking these courts can be made directly by emailing [email protected].
