Frazsier’s Whip and Arnett Gardens Run Riot as Jamaica Women’s Premier League Returns with Goal Frenzy
After dropping their first points of the season in a draw against Arnett Gardens last week, Frazsier’s Whip FC returned to their ruthless best with an emphatic 11-0 victory over Mile Gully FC as the Jamaica Women’s Premier League resumed on Saturday, July 19.
Frazsier’s Whip wasted no time reasserting their dominance, with Ricquanna Richards opening the scoring in the 13th minute before Natoya Atkinson doubled the lead just three minutes later. From there, it was a relentless onslaught. Destiny Powell starred with four goals (20′, 26′, 36′, 62′), while Davia Richards added a brace (41′, 45′) to cap a blistering first half. Nevillegail Able (43′), Keandra Leslie (80′), and national player Shaneil Buckley (90+2′) rounded out the scoreline to hand Frazsier’s Whip another commanding win as they continue to set the pace in the league.
Meanwhile, Arnett Gardens FC, who had held Frazsier’s Whip to a 1-1 draw the previous week, put on a scoring clinic of their own with a remarkable 14-1 demolition of Real MoBay AFC. Shikira Douglas led the rampage with five goals (14′, 18′, 34′, 54′, 63′, 68′), while there were additional strikes from Isabelle Redwood (5′), Briana Crosby (37′), Tuanashae Hamilton (38′), Sade Berry (49′), Suen Gregory (73′), Shanice Stewart (76′), and a quickfire brace from Shaunalee Johnson (79′, 80′). Despite a lone reply from Dale-Ann Daley in the 65th minute, the gulf in class was clear as Arnett Gardens reminded everyone of their title credentials.
Elsewhere, Wifi United’s Tashel Davis scored a clinical first-half hat-trick (30′, 40′, 43′) to power her side to a 3-0 win over UWI Women’s FC. The result solidified Wifi’s position in the upper half of the standings as they continue to quietly build momentum.
In a thrilling encounter, Federal United FC and Proven Girls SC played out a dramatic 2-2 draw. Kimberly Bent put Proven ahead in the 25th minute, but Federal hit back through Adriana Halt in the 38th. Brianna Smith thought she’d won it for Proven with an 81st-minute strike, but Federal responded almost immediately through Rajanique Ferguson to ensure a share of the spoils.
Earlier in the day, Springers United FC and Los Perfectos FC played to a 1-1 draw. Joshika Harris gave Los Perfectos the lead, but Abbie-Kay Reid equalised for Springers to secure a point in a closely contested affair.
