Freetown secured a commanding 10-wicket victory over Mahico to advance to the best of three finals, where they await the winner of the eliminator between Blackhawks and Mahico.
Mahico was dismissed for just 81 runs, with Mike France (26) and Norman Belle (20) the only batsmen to reach double figures. Freetown’s bowling attack was devastating, led by Shem Laboard‘s exceptional figures of three wickets for four runs while Jamaul Fernandez claimed three for 13, while Kief Baltimore took two for seven.
Chasing 82, Freetown cruised to victory without losing a wicket. Fernandez top-scored with 37 not out, while Hughan Tonge contributed 28 in the comfortable chase, after reportedly pleading with his captain to bowl picking up a solitary wicket.
The other match saw PIC Liberta Black Hawks win by seven wickets in an impressive chase that featured outstanding individual performances.
Sea View Farm posted 121 for nine in 25 overs, with Adrian Abbott leading the way with 42 runs and Tris Phillip contributing 21. The innings was derailed by a brilliant bowling spell from Wilden Cornwall Jr, who claimed four wickets for just eight runs.
Black Hawks reached their target of 122 with ease, finishing on 123 for three in just 13 overs. Brent Joseph Jr starred with an unbeaten 69, while Cornwall Jr added 22 runs and Shamar Pereira scored 20. Sea View Farm’s bowlers tried to stem the flow, with Dwayne Fordice (1-24), Tazio Watson (1-29), and Tarun Watson (1-26) picking up wickets, but the target proved too modest against aggressive batting.
