Garden Stars FC capped off a perfect group stage campaign on Saturday, August 23rd, securing their place in the Parham Super League semifinals with commanding performances that showcased their potential as title holders.
The day began with Pigotts FC overcoming Freeman’s Village FC 2-0 in a hard-fought encounter. They opened the scoring courtesy of Shamoi Andrew‘s 23rd-minute goal before Mali Johnson doubled their advantage in the 50th minute, sealing a crucial victory that would ultimately secure their semifinal berth.
However, it was Garden Stars FC who stole the show in the day’s second fixture, delivering a one-sided affair against Parham FC. The hosts never stood a chance as Garden Stars raced to a 4-0 victory, effectively wrapping up the group stage in emphatic fashion.
Allan Martin was the star of the show, registering a hat-trick that will be remembered as one of the tournament’s standout individual performances. The prolific striker opened the scoring in just the 4th minute, setting the tone for what would become a dominant display. Martin struck again in the 18th minute before completing his treble on the stroke of halftime with a 40th-minute goal that left Parham FC reeling.
The second half saw Garden Stars maintain their stranglehold on the match, with Courtney Clarke adding the fourth goal in the 60th minute to put the result beyond any doubt.
Parham FC’s frustrations were compounded in the 68th minute when Andy Daniel missed a penalty that could have provided some consolation for the home side.
With this comprehensive victory, Garden Stars FC finished the group stage as Group A winners, maintaining a perfect record across all three matches. Their impressive run has established them as early favorites heading into the semifinal stage. Joining them in the semifinals are Pigotts FC, who secured second place in Group A with 6 points.
