GARY LINEKER is reportedly set for a lucrative role with Netflix for the World Cup next summer.
The presenter was expected to cover the tournament as part of the BBC’s coverage.

Lineker, 65, was axed by the broadcaster from his final project after he shared a social media post about Zionism.
The post included a picture of a rat, which has historically been deemed antisemitic.
His duty at the World Cup with the BBC would have been his final appearance for the broadcaster after 25 years.
The Daily Mail has now claimed that Lineker could now be working at the World Cup with a new service.

The report has suggested that he has agreed a “lucrative deal” with Netflix.
It is thought he will host his The Rest is Football podcast on the streaming service from North America.
The podcast was previously featured on BBC Sounds but it was pulled after his sacking.
Since then, it has only been published on YouTube without an official home.

Former footballers Alan Shearer and Micah Richards co-star on the podcast alongside Lineker.
It is not yet known whether or not the duo will follow Lineker to the Netflix platform for the tournament.
A source told the outlet: “The Rest is Football is currently available to watch on YouTube but it has not been affiliated to any other network or broadcaster.
“This is all new for Netflix and it is being described as an exciting a new thing amongst the bosses there.
“It will mean that Gary gets a huge payday, it is an extremely popular show but when he left the BBC he took it with him.
“This will mean that its profile will catapult again, as well as meaning that Gary will go to the World Cup after all, just in a very different capacity.”
Lineker joined Match of the Day back in 2000 following his retirement from football.
