GARY NEVILLE was left “really angry” with Newcastle’s “really poor” performance at West Ham in the Premier League.
The Magpies lost 3-1 to the Hammers at London Stadium in a match that saw the visitors’ winless Prem run on the road extend to seven months.

The Toon opened the scoring with Jacob Murphy after just four minutes but the East Londoners turned it around just 10 minutes before half-time with a goal by Lucas Paqueta and an own-goal by Sven Botman.
West Ham then sealed their first ever win under new manager Nuno Espirito Santo in the eighth minute of stoppage time with Tomas Soucek.
A furious Neville, 50, didn’t hold back after the game as he put Eddie Howe’s men on full blast.
The Manchester United legend accused the players of letting their “fantastic” manager down and allowing themselves to get “found out”.

Neville told NBC Sports: “They made me really angry.
“I think probably in the last 20 minutes of that first half, but certainly in that second half, they didn’t have a shot for a long time in the game.
“I thought they really let the manager down, who is fantastic. A manager who has got a great record, but they’ve got a lot of work to do.
“The actual gap between the top and the bottom is big in some ways but if you drop your effort and you drop your actual intensity, you’re going to get found out very quickly in this league.

“And they’ve been found out today like you wouldn’t believe, Newcastle.
“I thought they were lethargic, leggy and I thought their attitude was really poor to that game.”
Howe was also incensed by the players’ performance at full-time and shared a piece of his own mind during his post-match interview.
The Newcastle boss insisted the performance at West Ham didn’t resemble the team he knew and worked hard to put together.
Howe said: “I don’t think it looked like a Newcastle team that we’ve seen in recent seasons.
“I think the body language, the collective spirit on the pitch, loads of little things that contribute to our performance, wasn’t there.
“I don’t think that was tactical and I don’t think that was necessarily technical. It was a by-product of us just not being where we needed to be mentally.”
