An electrifying night of boxing and entertainment with the staging of ‘Boxing Fiesta’ will be held at the GC Foster College on Thursday, May 7.
The event has been conceptualised and executed by final-year Bachelor of Science students, who are completing practical training in sport event management.
The night’s card will feature a dynamic run of nine bouts, highlighting a blend of emerging and elite talent across multiple levels of the sport.
The package will start at 6:30 p.m.
Patrons can expect an exciting line-up including high school matchups (boys and girls), a college-level bout (exhibition), three amateur contests, and a highly anticipated main event featuring professional boxers, promising a thrilling climax to the night
Beyond the action in the ring, Boxing Fiesta is designed as a complete entertainment experience. The evening will transition into an after-party, giving patrons an opportunity to celebrate and socialise following the fights.
Wayne Roberts, chairman of the organising team, says, “The event represents more than just competition.”
“Boxing Fiesta is a platform for athlete development, fan engagement, and the practical application of sport business principles. It reflects the innovation and execution capabilities of our students while contributing to the growth of boxing in Jamaica,” he said.
The initiative also serves to underscore the college’s commitment to experiential learning, providing students with hands-on exposure in event planning, budgeting, promotions, sponsorship, operations, and sport production. The event has the support of the Jamaica Boxing Board.
Tickets and sponsorship opportunities are available, with organisers encouraging strong support from the sporting community, corporate partners, and the public.
Early bird tickets will go on sale tomorrow.
