The Grenada Football Association (GFA) is proud to announce the official launch of the GFA Referee Academy on Wednesday, 8 April 2026, at 10 am.
The ceremony will be held at the National Stadium Media Conference Room, with Javier Santos, FIFA Development Officer, serving as the event’s distinguished guest.
The GFA Referee Academy represents a landmark initiative aimed at elevating the standard of officiating across Grenada’s football competitions. Through a comprehensive curriculum — including rule interpretation, fitness conditioning, match-management techniques, and ethical conduct — the programme will certify approximately 30 aspiring referees in its first cohort, thereby strengthening the integrity and competitiveness of local and regional matches.
“Investing in our referees is essential to the growth of Grenadian football,” said Marlon Glean, President of the GFA. “The academy will provide the tools and mentorship needed to produce officials who are competent, confident, and internationally recognised.”
Glean, along with Santos, will address attendees, sharing insights on FIFA’s global development pathway and the opportunities it creates for emerging officials.
