The Grenada National Sports Council (GNSC), together with its Parish Sports Councils, in collaboration with the Grenada Red Cross, will host CPR, First Aid, and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Training on Thursday, 9 April 2026, at the Grenada Red Cross Building.
The training will be conducted in partnership with the Grenada Red Cross and forms part of the council’s continued efforts to ensure that staff and council members involved in sports administration and development are equipped with the necessary emergency response and life‑saving skills.
As sport often involves physical activity and large public gatherings, the training is designed to strengthen the capacity of council members and staff to respond promptly and effectively to medical emergencies at sporting facilities, events, and workplaces.
Participants will receive hands‑on instruction in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), basic first aid, and the proper use of AED defibrillators.
“This training underscores our commitment to safety and preparedness within the sporting community,” stated CEO Alvin Clouden of the Grenada National Sports Council. “By ensuring our staff and council members are properly trained, we are taking proactive steps to safeguard athletes, officials, and the general public.”
The Grenada National Sports Council extends sincere appreciation to the Grenada Red Cross for their collaboration and expertise in delivering this vital training programme. The initiative reflects a shared commitment to public safety, capacity building, and health awareness within the sporting sector.
The council remains dedicated to promoting a safer and more resilient sports environment across Grenada and will continue to pursue partnerships and training opportunities that enhance emergency preparedness.
