The Grenada National Sports Council (NSC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Tamara Adams as Financial Consultant, effective 2 June 2025.
This strategic engagement aims to strengthen the Council’s financial governance and operational framework as part of its ongoing institutional development.
Adams, an experienced accounting and tax professional with over a decade of experience in public sector finance, auditing, and taxation, brings a wealth of expertise to the role. She holds a Master of Science in Taxation and LLM in International Tax Law. Her professional background includes key roles at the Inland Revenue Division, The Tax Experts, and the Audit Department, where she demonstrated a consistent ability to improve systems, ensure compliance, and train finance professionals.
The 6-month consultancy will focus on the establishment of a fully operational and compliant Financial Management System aligned with Grenada’s Financial Management Act (2015), Audit Act, and other related legislation. Adams will lead the design and implementation of financial policies and internal controls, while also training the finance team. Adams will also lead in the preparation of the council’s 2026–2029 budget for submission to the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
Key deliverables under her consultancy include:
- Development and implementation of standard operating procedures and accounting systems
- Training in financial software (e.g., QuickBooks)
- Preparation of annual budgets for 2026–2029
- Capacity-building workshops for finance officers and parish treasurers
Chairman of the Board of Directors Patrick Simmons expressed confidence in the appointment: “Ms Adams’ strong background in financial governance and capacity building is exactly what the Council needs at this stage of its growth. Her contribution will be vital in shaping a sound and sustainable finance office that supports the NSC’s mandate to develop sport across Grenada.”
Adams will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer Alvin Clouden of the NSC, and work closely with key stakeholders across the council, the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Ministry of Finance.
