Caymanian golfer Justin Hastings capped off a solid showing at the 2025 Butterfield Bermuda Championship, finishing in a tie for 22nd place out of a 120-player field.
Competing on a sponsor exemption, Hastings carded a three-under-par 72-hole total of 281.
Hastings displayed consistent form throughout the 13-16 Nov. tournament at Port Royal Golf Course, recording daily scores of 71, 68, 72, and 70.
His best performance came in the second round, where his round of 68 propelled him up the leaderboard.
His final-round 70 helped secure the tied-22nd finish, marking a significant accomplishment for the young player on the PGA Tour.
This 22nd finish comes on the heels of a 26th-place finish at a PGA Tour event in California four weeks prior where Hastings played alongside Scottie Scheffler – the number one golfer in the world – during the third round.
Hastings, who only recently turned professional, reflected on his back-to-back strong showings, stating, “I have been very fortunate to have received these two exemptions for sponsors and to be able to take advantage of them is something I am very proud of.”

“My team and I are hopeful that we will be able to compete in the Butterfield Bermuda Classic as our relationship with Butterfield as a brand continues to grow. This was a very special week for me and this tournament will always have a special place in my heart,” Hastings said.
Regarding his experience at Port Royal, Hastings drew parallels to his home course in Cayman saying, “A lot of the grass types were similar, as well as there was a lot of water on the course and constantly a lot of wind,” though he noted the primary difference was the significant elevation change.
Acknowledging that sponsor exemptions are “extremely difficult to come by,” Hastings explained that his top 22 finish in the PGA Tour event was a crucial step, adding, “This definitely helps my resume.”
Reflecting on his progression in the off-tour events over the summer, Hastings said he has learned “how to handle the additional pressure of playing as a pro”.
“This is something I learn more about every day as I continue to test myself in the professional world,” he said.
