FORMER Chelsea boss Avram Grant has been sacked as Zambia’s national coach – after failing to lead the African side to the World Cup finals.
Grant, 70, took the Blues to the 2008 Champions League final and League Cup final.

He went on to manage Portsmouth and West Ham, but the Hammers fired him after relegation in 2011.
The Israeli took charge of Zambia in December 2022, and twice guided them to the Africa Cup of Nations finals.
But the Copper Bullets have missed out on next year’s expanded World Cup after finishing fourth in their qualifying group – 15 points behind winners Morocco.
The Zambian FA issued a statement on Wednesday morning confirming their decision.

It is safe to say fans of the national team were glad to see them part ways with the experienced coach.
