BARRY FERGUSON blasted Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers, insisting he should be “concentrating on his own club” after wading into the Russell Martin row.
Rodgers took aim at previous Gers coaches in Friday’s press conference over their criticism of current head coach Martin.
The under-fire boss took his team to Loch Lomond to do wild swimming and also went a walk up Conic Hill to try and bring the players together after a disappointing start to the season.
It followed a miserable weekend for the Ibrox club after 2-0 defeat to Hearts saw them languish TENTH in the Premiership and without a win in their first five league games.
Billy Dodds and Neil McCann, who were part of the team immediately preceding Martin, have been strong in their views about where it’s going wrong on the pitch while Ferguson made reference to “skinny dipping” in Loch Lomond.
Rodgers questioned some of the criticism aimed at Martin by the previous Gers regime.

Earlier on Friday, he said: “I have some issues around the moral aspect when I see people commenting on how well he is doing when not that long ago they were stood in his shoes or sat on the bench.
“So I don’t like that when I see a manager being pulled up on certain parts of the game, certain tactics of the game, that not so long ago other people couldn’t work that out either.”
When ask about this on Go Radio Football Show, Ferguson insisted the criticism had been constructive not personal and that Rodgers should focus on his own team.
He said: “I heard him saying about tactics and you couldn’t get it right last season, well we did get it right last season when we came up against Brendan’s team.
“Listen, he’s having a pop at my staff and I’ve got to back my staff.
“I’ve listened and watched a lot and it’s been very constructive.
“I don’t think at any time it’s been personal and that’s why you’re in the media and you’re doing stuff and trying to analyse the game.
“For instance, on Saturday, when I was watching Neil McCann I thought it was very good.
“I don’t know why he [Brendan] needs to bring that up.
“He should be concentrating on his club first and foremost because there are some issues there.
“He shouldn’t be concentrating on Rangers.”
Rangers fans are planning a protest before their Premier Sports Cup clash against Hibs on Saturday.
Gers chairman Andrew Cavenagh gave Martin his backing ahead of jetting in for the Ibrox encounter.
