LET’S just say Celtic aren’t the easiest club to second guess right now when it comes to decision making at boardroom level.
There’s been chaos in there this season with the Hoops parting company suddenly with Brendan Rodgers, then jettisoning caretaker boss Martin O’Neill in favour of a Wilfried Nancy stint which lasted just eight games.

O’Neill is BACK as he kicks off his third stint at the club on Saturday against Dundee Utd – but the man himself reckons he WON’T be in post beyond the summer no matter what happens.
But the bookmakers aren’t wrong about much and some recent major moves in their market to be the next permanent boss of the Parkhead club might just indicate the Hoops’ direction of travel.
That hasn’t stopped him being the even price favourite to be handed the Hoops job on a permanent basis.
But it’s a flood of cash on the man immediately behind him in the running, Roberto Martinez, which has really set the hares racing.

The 52-year-old is currently managing the Portuguese national team – but he’s got strong links both with Scotland, where his wife is from, and current Celtic assistant Shaun Maloney.
And bookmakers Coral are concerned enough about the amount of money coming in for him to slash his odds of being Hoops boss on the opening day of the 2026/27 Scottish Premiership season from 2-1 (from 25-1).
Coral‘s John Hill said: “We have seen a huge gamble on Roberto Martinez being the Celtic manager on the opening days of the 2026/27 Scottish Premiership season.
“The Spaniard is currently in charge of the Portugal national team, but perhaps he could be available after this summer’s World Cup.”
Martinez has climbed above the likes of Ange Postecoglou (8-1) and Motherwell boss Jens Berthel Askou (12-1) on the list – with former favourite Robbie Keane also in the contenders at 12-1.
Meanwhile, as SunSport told you, Kyogo is weighing up the possibility of a stunning return to the club on loan from Birmingham City in time for this weekend’s vital league clash with Dundee United.
The Japanese star, 30, was only sold to Rennes for £10million 12 months ago.
But he struggled to hit the same heights there as he did at the Hoops only playing in six games and scoring no goals.
