MARTIN O’NEILL was hoping to finish with a flourish at Celtic as he brought the curtain down on his interim period in charge of the Hoops but he will now STAY on as manager – at least for another few days.
The 73-year-old has been in the hotseat for the last month, 20 years after his last stint, following Brendan Rodgers‘ shocking exit.
He was expected to step aside for incoming boss Wilfried Nancy who is expected to be confirmed as the new head coach on Monday.
But O’Neill revealed today that he may STILL be in the dugout for the game on Wednesday against Dundee.
O’Neill has made a few big changes for today’s game, with Yang and Luke McCowan handed starts alongside youngster Colby Donovan.
It means no place for Johnny Kenny or Sebastian Tounekti, with Kieran Tierney and Benjamin Nygren also left on the bench.
Hibs meanwhile cut the gap to the second-placed Hoops to just two points with a victory in this one.
