TEMPLEGATE’s top racing tips for all the action at Carlisle, Ffos Las, Brighton, Chelmsford and Southwell on Thursday are below.
Back a horse by clicking their odds.
BALGOWAN (8.00 Southwell, nap)
Seamus Mullins’ son of Australia loves a stamina test as he showed on his last run around here. That came back in April when he saw out every yard of two miles to strike with something up his sleeve. He has a cracking record in all-weather marathons and has dropped to just 2lb above that success. Returning to the sand can see him back to winning ways.
BEL AMIGO (1.22 Carlisle, nb)
Progressed last season with three wins here and can step forward from a promising third on comeback at Perth latest.
HELLO JUDGE (4.15 Carlisle, treble)
Has a fine record here and landed two wins and a second in Cumbria last season. He won this race in 2023 and is back from the same mark that saw him go close in April.
ISLE OF SARK (4.22 Ffos Las, Lucky 15)
Can defy a 7lb penalty for a convincing victory at Sedgefield eight days ago. His rider’s claim takes care of most of that and trainer Mickey Bowen has been firing in the winners.
