TEMPLEGATE tackles a cracking Friday of racing confident of banging in some winners and boosting the bank for another big weekend of action.

JPR ONE (2.25 Exeter, nap)
Can make it two wins on the spin in the £100,000 Haldon Gold Cup. The Tizzard stable has a fantastic record in the west country’s big race with three wins in the past four years, including this solid performer 12 months ago. He jumped well that day at one of the few tracks where the fences still present a proper challenge to hold off Djelo, who won a nice prize at Ascot last weekend. JPR One then justified his place in the Tingle Creek over an inadequate trip and ended the campaign with a fine run at Punchestown in good company. He’s just 4lb higher in the handicap than when winning this last season and this is his cup final so he’ll be ready to fly.
HELLO JUDGE (3.20 Hexham, nb)
He’s come home first on three of his past five starts and likes Carlisle so hilly Hexham should be right up his street. He’s still on a fair mark and can strike.
QUEBECOIS (1.50 Exeter, treble)
Has reportedly been working very well ahead of this comeback for Paul Nicholls. He was Grade 2 placed as a hurdler and anything like that on chase debut would get the job done.
JONGLEUR D’ETOILES (1.25 Fontwell, Lucky 15)
Has done well over hurdles but could come into his own on this chase debut. He’s got winning form at the Sussex track.
