DEFIANT Celtic star Adam Idah has made it clear social media trolls won’t stop him from enjoying nights out.
The £9 million frontman was captured on video mid-April looking worse for wear in a taxi with an allegation also he was sick in it.
It prompted the Republic of Ireland star – who was on a day off – to immediately seek damage limitation talks with Brendan Rodgers and the Hoops boss was quick to then publicly support him.
Now Idah – with the Irish squad preparing for friendlies against Senegal and Luxembourg – has delivered an emphatic message to the hidden snipers that they’re NOT going to impact how he decides to enjoy his life away from the demands of Celtic.
The 24-year-old finished last season with 20 goals for the four-in-a-row champions.
And on the filmed Glasgow night out and Rodgers’ response, he said: “It didn’t impact me. I was out on a day off, that was that. He understood.
“I was off, I go out with the boys and that was that.
“There was no problem with the manager, he spoke about it really well.”
Idah insisted that being a high profile footballer also didn’t mean he had to always stay indoors.
He added: “I will be videoed but at the end of the day I am a human being.
“I go out. I don’t have to stay inside all the time.
“It’s hard when people are videoing you, it can be quite upsetting, especially when the story is made out to be what it is not.
“It can be tough but like I said I am human and I’m going to carry on with my life.”
When asked about Idah’s evening out 48-hours after, Rodgers said: “I haven’t seen anything, but Adam rang me yesterday to take me through everything that happened.
“I spoke to him again this morning.
“There’s a sadness to it. He knows, and the group knows, where I am at in terms of focus and mentality.
“But this was on a day off.
“The sad thing for me is that a 24-year-old football player in his spare time can’t sort of let his hair down without someone trying to film him.
“This is the challenge now for people in general, but in particular, if you are a young football player.
“I got the full story from him. I don’t have any doubt he is a great young professional.
“He does absolutely everything to be the best player he can be.
“He has a nutritionist outside of the club, he does extra work.
“So I have absolutely no doubts about that. It’s just a shame these things get pieced together and make it look a lot worse than what it is.
“I haven’t seen it, but I’ve heard some of the guys mention it. He has to live with that, but I have no doubts on his mentality.
“He’s had an evening off on Wednesday and we were off on Thursday.
“We’ve got plenty of time before the game on Sunday. So I’m with Adam on that.”
Rodgers slammed those who chose to film the player and then circulate it widely.
He said: “In the modern society, especially these young guys, they have to be guarded. Sadly it’s the way of the world.

“People that will maybe go to sign an autograph or do a video and then some clown comes in and says something else in the video.
“Then people wonder why players won’t do a video, why won’t they sign, why do they drive past? Well, because you tried to expose them.”
