RUSSELL MARTIN says his signing spree is just getting started as he eyes deals for Thelo Aasgaard and Nasser Djiga.
Lyall Cameron, Max Aarons, Joe Rothwell and Emmanuel Fernandez all checked in at Ibrox this week.
Norwegian cap Aasgaard is set to follow on a four-year deal, with a loan move for Wolves defender Djiga also nearing completion.
Gers gaffer Martin said: “We are working hard to make sure we get the right ones. The ones already in we are so pleased about, and the ones we think will come in in the next week or two we’ll be so pleased with them.
“We still need some help but we are all aware of that.
“We can’t be in a rush and just sign the ones we’re not too sure about. We have to go after the ones we really want.

“We have to look at character first. Can you come here and add to us as a group in terms of your behaviour, the way you train, the way you work, who you are as a human being?
“Playing for this club won’t be for everyone, so character first then talent after. We want to get both.
“We’re at a disadvantage because we have these early European qualifiers. Kevin Thelwell is calling guys who are still on the beach.
“We are waiting for things to happen, so it’s not a lack of willingness. Everyone’s working hard.
“The ones we have brought in so far, great. But there will be more.”
Leicester defender Conor Coady could be among the new arrivals with talks ongoing.
And Martin is delighted with Gers’ business so far.
He said: “Manny and Joe had their first session yesterday. They were tired afterwards because it had been a big day for them.
“Joe will fit in great because he’s a top player and a top person. He was an important one for us and I was really pleased we got him in.
“We’ve so many exciting young players that we need a bit of help on the pitch from senior players who have been there and lived the moments. He knows what it takes to win, so he’ll bring that.
“Also, people need to be desperate to play for this club. If people are considering other options it’s on to the next one.
“Joe was desperate to come here. Same with Manny. I spoke to my old manager at Peterborough, Darren Ferguson, and I really believe Manny can be what he wants to be.”
Rothwell admitted he knocked back a move to La Liga because he couldn’t turn down Gers for the second time.
The midfielder, who has signed a three-year deal, revealed he came close to joining Rangers back in 2022.
The 30-year-old said: “I had the opportunity to come here just before I signed for Bournemouth. It was a toss up between the two.
“I decided to go there at the time but thankfully the offer came again and I jumped straight at it.

“This time there was interest from elsewhere, but as soon as I knew Rangers came calling, I wanted to go back to that big club mentality.
“They fitted the bill for me and with the manager coming here, it was a no-brainer.”
