DAIZEN MAEDA dropped the bombshell news on international duty.
An agreement had been reached between Celtic’s talisman and another club – but the Hoops weren’t prepared to let him go.
The rest of the details were all very mysterious – but now a bit more meat has been put on the bone.
That’s because Sky Sports reporter Anthony Joseph reports that the offer came in from a Bundesliga club in Germany, and it was sizeable.
The Hoops, though, weren’t in position to “entertain the offer” as letting the deal go through would leave them shorthanded up front.

“My understanding is that a Bundesliga club registered their interest last week and he was keen.
“The German club made a big bid last weekend but Celtic were in no position to entertain it due to a shortage of forwards.”
It’s looking more and more like a time of major change at the Parkhead side, with SunSport understanding senior Hoops figures at the club are concerned manager Brendan Rodgers is trying to “engineer his exit”.
As we told you last night, Rodgers’ remarks on Celts’ work in the transfer window have not gone down well with the Hoops hierarchy.
