The Inter-Primary Netball One-Day Rally, which last ran in 2023, made its return this year with nine under-9 and a dozen under-11 teams.
The event, hosted at the Truman Bodden netball courts on 19 Sept., saw Island Primary secure the championship with a 2-1 victory over Cayman Prep and High School in the under-9 division.
Edna Moyle Primary School edged out East End Primary School with a 1-0 score to claim the bronze.
In the under-11 finals, Cayman Prep emerged victorious after a decisive 4-0 win against Cayman International School.
For the third-place trophy, the NorthEast Schools – a combination of Edna Moyle Primary and East End Primary – joined forces to face Island Primary, securing a 3-2 victory.
This year’s rally included a team from Creek and Spot Bay Primary School, as well as First Baptist Christian School, a first-time entrant.
Kerry Ann Jones-Hylton, Department of Education Services lead physical education specialist, said, “This year’s rally highlighted the incredible talent coming out of the primary schools.”
“It is obvious there is an appetite for netball, and the Department of Education, along with other stakeholders, will continue to nourish this appetite by providing opportunities for our students to showcase their skills,” she added.
