LET’S hope it’s a good omen ahead of this month’s crucial World Cup qualifying clashes.
But one particular detail on a ‘leaked’ design for Scotland‘s Adidas new home kits has left some fans far from happy.

Images which were widely shared online last night show what appears to be the new kit which Steve Clarke‘s men will wear in the USA, Mexico and Canada should they make it to next summer’s World Cup.
And it contains a CENTRAL badge, much like the design Scotland proudly sported the last time we took on the world at the major global finals, way back in 1998.
While that kit, sported by John Collins as he scored an opening day penalty in an agonising defeat to Brazil, was made by Umbro, this one of course is Adidas.
And while members of the Tartan Army might not give a jot if John McGinn and Scott McTominay are strutting their stuff in it on the global stage next summer, a few are hard to please when it comes to this one particular detail.

That apart the kit looks like a return to the basics after the current blue and yellow kit, with a plain navy blue colour with a saltire detail.
The trefoil Adidas badge is prominent too, unlike the ‘leaked’ away kit which has the more conventional Adidas badge.
And one fan on social media wrote: “Badge and logo placement is horrible. Scotland tops are hard to mess up but adidas sure have done it.”
A second said: “Hate hate hate a central badge.”
A third agreed: “Hate the central placement of the badge. Not for me this rotation..”
A fourth said: “Central logo’s a nonsense. Could have been very nice.”
A fifth agreed: “Looks like a training top that’s been built for the World Cup.”
But some took a different take, with one writing: “Central badge like we had for 98, good omen hopefully.”
Another wrote simply: “It’s fine. Just fine. Nothing particular to get too excited about or offended by.
“But if we get to wear it at the world cup I wouldn’t care what it looked like.”
