The spirit of Christmas was in full swing at the Holiday Inn Resort on 14 Dec. as hundreds of residents laced up their sneakers for the annual Jingle Bell Walk/Run organised by the Cayman Islands Crisis Centre.
More than just a 5K or 10K race, the event is the signature holiday fundraiser designed to bring the community together in solidarity with survivors of domestic abuse.
Organisers emphasise that every step taken is meaningful, as it raises visibility for an issue often hidden in silence or shame, helps remove the stigma, reassures survivors that they are not alone and encourages others to seek help.
Participants enjoyed a morning with holiday cheer, including a special appearance by Santa, Christmas gifts for children, breakfast, a raffle and best-dressed prizes for adults and children.
