By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Kelly Street Bombers secured a commanding 4-2 victory over Old Road Defenders in the Belize District Football Association (BDFA) First Division 2024-2025 Closing Championship on Labour Day at the Marion Jones Sports Complex in Belize City.
Kelly Street took control early, with Adgar Adderly opening the scoring in the 13th minute. Francis Andrews doubled the lead in the 23rd minute, putting Old Road on the back foot. Steven Baizar then sealed the win with goals in the 35th and 85th minutes.
Old Road managed to respond through Kevin Young, who found the net in the 29th and 57th minutes, but it wasn’t enough to overcome Kelly Street’s dominance.
In the other matches, Caesar Ridge and Tut Bay played to a 2-2 draw, while Survivors FC edged Hattieville United Youth Sporting Club 2-1.
Labour Day football at Marion Jones Sports Complex proved to be a thrilling day of football, setting the stage for more exciting clashes in the BDFA First Division Championship this coming weekend.
