SEBASTIAN TOUNEKTI expects Celtic to go “all the way” to try and sign him on deadline day.
The Hoops have had two bids turned down for the Hammarby winger – with the Swedes demanding £5million.
But 24-year-old Tounekti doesn’t expect Celtic to give up as Brendan Rodgers chases attacking additions.
Asked about Celtic, he said: “I know they are specifically interested.
“I know they probably haven’t given up, it seems like Celtic will go all the way.
“That’s what I’ve heard. We’ll see what happens.
“I’m happy in Hammarby. At the same time, it’s fun to have interest.
“Am I staying? It’s hard to say here and now.
“I’m developing a lot in Hammarby with the coaching team and my teammates, but at the same time, things can happen quickly in football.
“I understand Hammarby’s position. They want to win games this autumn.
“I’ve been given an important role in the team so it’s nothing strange.
“But it’s a lot of money and it will be exciting to see what happens.
“I had a really good chat with the people at Hammarby about it.
“I said that it’s great to have interest from a big club, but I understand their positon.
“The board and management will decide.”
Hammarby sporting director Mikael Hjelmberg refused to rule out Tounekti’s sale to Celtic on Monday.
He said: “Nothing is set in stone in this business.
“We have had a great dialogue with Seb and a clear dialogue with Celtic that we have no ambition to sell.
“It is not that we have made a counter-offer. We have really just said no.”
Meanwhile, Celtic’s other key signing target Kasper Dolberg was a late substitute for Anderlecht in their derby defeat to Union SG.
