LILLE are preparing to up the ante in their pursuit of Hamza Igamane.
Reports on Friday claimed their interest had “cooled” after Rangers set the asking price at £15million.
But it’s understood discussions are on-going with the player keen on a move to Ligue 1.
Gers swooped for the Moroccan international in a deal worth just £1.7m last summer.
Igamane hit 16 goals for the Ibrox side last season – including a famous winner against Celtic at Parkhead.
His outstanding display against Nice in the Europa League caught the eye of clubs across Europe, with Lille, Marseille and Everton all put on red alert.

But with Jonathan David set to leave the Mastiffs this summer, Lille have moved first.
It’s claimed Igamane has already agreed terms with the French club, but as yet no official bid has been made.
That could all change in the next 48 hours with Lille determined to secure the services of the Ibrox star.
Cyriel Dessers is likely to follow Igamane out the door with the Nigerian striker on the brink of a move to AEK Athens.
Feyenoord have also been linked with last season’s top scorer – but reports in Greece claimed last night that AEK are preparing their final push to land the front man.
Gers could generate £20m from both sales, with boss Russell Martin set to move for top target Dor Turgeman.
The Ibrox club are willing to meet Maccabi Tel Aviv’s asking price of 5million euros with the striker keen on a move to Glasgow.
But Martin has missed out on Peterborough winger Kwame Poku.
The 23-year-old, who scored 12 goals in 27 games, has opted instead for QPR.
It’s an area Martin desperately wants to strengthen following the departure of on-loan Vaclav Cerny.
Current wingers Nedim Bajrami and Ross McCausland are two players who could find themselves surplus to requirements.
Defender Conor Coady remains a target, with Martin continuing to track Croat forward Matija Frigan too.

Meanwhile, Martin’s men suffered a defeat to The New Saints in a closed door friendly.
The Welsh side ran out 1-0 winners in Glasgow against a Gers side that included Liam Kelly, James Tavernier and Robin Propper.
