LAWRENCE SHANKLAND has given Hearts a major boost by finally penning a new deal at Tynecastle.
The long contract saga is now over as the Scotland striker has jetted out to Spain to link up with Derek McInnes and his team-mates for pre-season.
Shankland, 29, has agreed to extend his contract by a further three years.
The hitman’s future in Gorgie was up in the air for months as his representatives and the club were locked in talks for months.
At one stage it looked like the Jambos were going to lose their prized asset when McInnes confessed a new deal for the striker looked unlikely.
But the former Killie boss has managed to convince the striker to stay at the club until 2028.
