Defending league and playoffs champions, Sandals Antigua, opened their 2025 Cool & Smooth, Antigua and Barbuda Basketball Association (ABBA) Business Basketball League campaign with a decisive 21 points triumph over Fearless Security Services on Sunday night.
Playing in the feature game of a double-header at the JSC basketball complex, Sandals were led by Tshawn Lewis with 18 points as they rallied to a 71-50 win over their opponents. Selassie Brathwaite contributed to the winning effort with 14 points, four assists and four steals while Keroi Lee sank 11 points, grabbed 13 rebounds, had four assists and three steals also for the winners.
In a losing effort, Emeka Emejuru and Beniah Mark both had 12 points for Fearless Security Services. Emejuru also grabbed eight rebounds while Mark had three steals.
In Sunday’s opening clash, Antigua Power Company (APC) outplayed J&J Company Landscaping Services to win by a 66-40 margin.
Amare Browne was the chief scorer for APC with 20 points. There were contributions of 16 points and eight rebounds from Aiden Crawford alongside 14 points and six rebounds from Ammiel Williams. Dwayne Samuel was the top scorer for J&J Company Landscaping Services with 11 points.
