STEVEN GERRARD is tipped with a sensational return to Rangers with the club close to appointing a new man in the dugout.
The Liverpool legend left the Gers in 2021 having won the Light Blues first premiership title since their return to the top-flight.
Gerrard’s former teammate, Didi Hamann, told bettinglounge.co.uk that a return to Ibrox would be a good move for the Liverpool legend.
Hamann said: “When players go back to a club where they’ve been successful, very rarely are they as successful as it was before because the expectations are so high.
“Now with managers, it might be a bit different because we’ve seen managers go back to clubs and be successful. I think that he’d give the blue half of the city a big boost.
“Steven Gerrard gave them some brilliant times and had some fantastic seasons at Ibrox. Even though he’s out of a job at the moment, he’s living in the Middle East and is very settled, it’ll be a big decision to come back and bring his family back here.

“He’s only young, he’s only in his 44, so I can’t see him not taking up another job soon because he’s done well at Rangers. It wasn’t the easiest at Aston Villa, but I think we see him back in management and it would be a great way back for him.
“I think it would be a win-win situation for both parties. I’d be happy if it happens.”
Gerrard left Rangers to join Aston Villa, but after a poor start to his second season at the club, he was sacked.
After a year out of the game, he jetted off to the Middle-East and took charge of Al-Ettifaq in Saudi Arabia, where he brought in ex-Celtic stars Jack Hendry and Moussa Dembele, as well as Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson.
In January, Gerrard and Ettifaq parted ways by mutual consent, with the manager once more out of a job.
The former Champions League winner now seems to be winning the race for the Ibrox hot seat, with Betfair suspending betting on Gerrard being the new Rangers boss.
He’s going head-to-head with another ex-Rangers star for the job, with Russell Martin also in the frame for the job.
Another ex-Liverpool icon could have also given us a huge clue to who will be in charge next-season.
Djibril Cisse took to Instagram earlier this week to say Gerrard has pulled out of his “Jubilee match” set to take place next week.
Cisse said on the social media platform: “Unfortunately, for professional reasons, Steven Gerrard just advised me that he won’t be able to grace his presence for my anniversary next Tuesday, May 27th.”
