HIBS have FAILED in their bid to bring in Scotland striker Lyndon Dykes on loan.
Easter Road boss David Gray had hoped to land the 42-capped striker from Birmingham City.
But a day of negotiations between the clubs ended with NO deal getting done with the Blues wanting Hibs to pay the majority of his wages.
That, though, proved to be a financial deal breaker for the Edinburgh club.
And Dykes, currently on Scotland duty along with Easter Road stars Grant Hanley and Kieron Bowie, was denied the move he was desperate for.
Hibs also made a late move to bring in Middlesbrough midfielder Dan Barlaser, also on loan.

That deal was not concluded before the 11pm deadline but an offer sheet was submitted before then.
Barlaser had been the subject of earlier deadline day interest from Millwall and Derby.
But Hibs were hopeful of getting his signing over the line before the midnight cut off point.
Elie Youan was also expected to quit Easter Road with Legia Warsaw keen to take him to Poland, but no deal was agreed.
Meanwhile, Celtic also missed out on a striker target in the form of Kasper Dolberg.
The Dane was one of a number of centre-forwards to turn down the Hoops on a sorry deadline day.
But Celts thought they had wrapped up a deal for the Anderlecht hitman – only for his old club Ajax to hijack the deal.
David Datro-Fofana also opted against a move to Parkhead in favour of a loan to Charlton Athletic, whilst Kelechi Iheanacho’s future is up in the air after he was released by Sevilla.
