PUNTERS were left searching for answers yet again as a freak 125-1 outsider followed ridiculous 200-1 and 100-1 Ascot winners.
Bookies were counting their considerable cash on Champions Day last weekend after two crazy results in the QEII and Champions Sprint Stakes.
Cicero’s Gift won the former at 100s while Powerful Glory made history with his jaw-dropping 200-1 sprint win.
But it took only three days for another monster winner to appear courtesy of the totally unfancied Just An Artist at Scottish track Perth.
Ridden by Bruce Lynn and trained by Nick Alexander, bookies initially installed the four-year-old filly at 66s.
But there was no love for her and she hit 150-1 before going off 125s for the Class 4 mares’ maiden hurdle.
She won like an odds-on shot, though, powering home by almost five lengths from 15-8 fav Chanonry Point.
Punters were floored by yet another massive winner coming from nowhere.
One joked: “Just An Artist wins as she likes at 125-1. Powers home after the last like an odds on fav… come racing!”
While another said: “Just an Artist 125-1 overturns 13 lengths in bumper form behind Chanonry Point and was pulled up on her last start… madness.”
