RANGERS manager target Davide Ancelotti didn’t link up with his father in Brazil due to the fact he’s in talks with a European club over becoming their new manager, his dad Carlo confirmed.
But in a fresh twist it seems like the former Real Madrid, Napoli and Everton coach has been enjoying a break from football instead – after his wife shared snaps of him spending time with his family on holiday.
Ancelotti Jr, 35, is one of the leading contenders to replace Philippe Clement as the next permanent Ibrox gaffer.
SunSport told you last night how Russell Martin remains in the frame for the job alongside Steven Gerrard, Brian Priske and Ancelotti.
It’s believed negotiations are at the final stage and an appointment is expected by the end of this week.
Gers chiefs have already held talks with Ancelotti and it’s believed the European club his father mentioned is in fact Rangers.

Explaining why his son didn’t join him in South America for his first press conference as Brazil manager, the legendary boss said: “Davide is currently in negotiations with a European team, and it didn’t seem right to bring him in.
“If he goes to a club, I wish him the best, and if not, he can come back to us.”
But for now it seems Carlo’s trusted assistant and coach is enjoying a sun-kissed break away from the game with his wife Ana Galocha and two kids.
Galocha shared snaps of the family sitting in the pool with the caption: “Family vacation.”
It’s unclear if the pictures are definitively new but it’s likely they were taken this week given Davide had only just finished working with Real Madrid after their last game of the season on Saturday.
Taking to social media on Saturday night, his wife penned an emotional goodbye to the Spanish giants with a selection of pics highlighting their trophy-laden spell at the club.
She wrote: “How can I explain in a single text everything I’ve experienced and felt in these four years?
“I still remember that “rumor”: maybe we’re going to Madrid. It was a dream, something that seemed far away… but it happened. I remember Carlo’s call to Davide, and that’s how it was. After so many years and experiences, we returned to Madrid, my second home. It was a dream… but what came next was even bigger.
“They were four intense years. Years of immense joy, also of pressure, but above all, of moments that will be etched forever. Those Champions League wins that seemed like they came straight out of a cartoon script, like Oliver and Benji’s. Incredible comebacks. What a way to enjoy it together!
“We weren’t always the favorites. There were injuries, tough moments, pressure… but we never gave up. And perhaps that’s why we’ve been so admired: for our passion, for not stopping believing until the very end.
“Now it’s time to go. We leave with our hearts full of gratitude: for the opportunity, for the experience, for all the people we’ve met. Now it’s time to say goodbye, but I like to think it’s not a goodbye, but a see you later. Because it hurts a little less. And because that’s how we want it to be.
“We’ve been overwhelmed with emotion for days. There have been so many messages of affection, videos, words from friends and strangers… All of that, and much more, is what we’re taking with us.
“Tomorrow we say goodbye to my father-in-law, from a team that will always live in our hearts. Tomorrow, a great man says goodbye: not only a role model on the field, but also a great person. An example of humility and leadership. Your son has had the best teacher… and a great dad.@mrancelotti
