GREG TAYLOR is set to move to PAOK Salonika in the next 48 hours.
The Celtic defender has snubbed offers from England and other European sides to move to the team who finished third in last season’s Greek Super League.
Scotland international Taylor had the opportunity to move to FC Copenhagen but favours a career-changing move to Greece.
He’s understood have been enthusiastic at following the paths of international team-mates Scott McTominay, Billy Gilmour, Lewis Ferguson and Josh Doig in sampling football abroad.
Taylor, 27, is currently on holiday but his future is expected to be resolved before Celtic return for pre-season training.
With Kieran Tierney sealing a Hoops return, Taylor is set to move on after six years in Glasgow.
However he’ll find his favoured number three jersey has already been snapped up – by a former team-mate.
Jonjoe Kenny, who spent four months on loan at Celtic Park four years ago, has already signed for PAOK from Hertha Berlin and has been paraded wearing the number three jersey.
Razvan Lucescu’s side start pre-season training this week and Taylor is expected to go through his medical tests this weekend prior to the team travelling to a training camp at Zaltbommel in Holland early nexct month.
The club have already re-signed keeper Jiri Pavlenka, as well as Dimitris Hatsidis and Dimitris Tsopouroglou for the new season.
The former Kilmarnock star was ironically signed as Tierney’s replacement back in 2019 and has gone on to make 216 appearances for the Hoops.
But Tierney’s arrival meant an impact on Taylor’s game time, which led to contract talks between the player and the club stalling.
He was linked with a move to Croatian giants Dinamo Zagreb in January and a switch to MLS soon after.
At one point, SunSport’s Kris Boyd (a former team mate of Taylor’s) tipped him for a sensational Bosman transfer to Rangers.
But towards the end of last season PAOK emerged as serious contenders for his signature.
It looked like for weeks it was only a matter of time before Taylor would be confirmed as a PAOK player.
But then Danish powerhouse Copenhagen came calling.
However, the Greek giants appear to have won the race.
