
A 62-year-old man was found dead inside a Grantville apartment Thursday night following a reported altercation with his sister, according to San Diego police.
Law enforcement responded around 9:24 p.m. Thursday to a disturbance at 6304 Rancho Mission Road after receiving reports of items being broken and a woman allegedly beating her brother with a stick.
Officers arrived eight minutes later and found the man unresponsive in the living room. Despite efforts by officers and medics to revive him, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police noted signs of a violent struggle but saw no immediate life-threatening injuries. The Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the official cause of death. The victim, a Pacific Islander, has not been publicly identified.
The victim’s 59-year-old sister, also a Pacific Islander, fled before officers arrived and is considered a person of interest. Her name has not been released.
