SENNE LAMMENS insists he is happy to be Manchester United’s “boring one” and is aiming to be at the club for ten years.
United have won all three games that summer signings Lammens has started and supporters chanted, “Are you Schmeichel in disguise?” on his debut against Sunderland.
United moved for Lammens after manager Ruben Amorim decided to let Andre Onana leave.
Onana endured two error-prone years with United before he joined Trabzonspor on a season-long loan and his replacement, Altay Bayindir, also committed errors in United’s three Premier League defeats this season.
Lammens has been dubbed “boring” by some United fans online as a compliment after he arrived for Belgium national duty in beige clothing.
Lammens believes that personality is what United need.

The 23-year-old said: “Over the years, they’ve seen goalkeepers and players come through here who were anything but boring.
“But that also had consequences on the pitch. I’m a nice change for the fans.”
“I got it, yes. Because, unlike others, I arrived at the national team in ‘normal clothes’. I also realize that I come across as boring to the outside world.
“But that’s exactly the kind of goalkeeper I want to be: someone who’s steadfast and doesn’t get caught up in the ups and downs.

“I also hope I can play here for ten years and be important. So that I can leave a legacy like Schmeichel and Edwin van der Sar.”
Peter Schmeichel told Sun Sport he had never heard of Lammens, who arrived for £18.2million from Royal Antwerp on transfer deadline day.
Lammens has since spoken to Schmeichel, who is a regular at United matches in his role as an overseas pundit.
Staff at United have likened Lammens to their former Champions League-winning ‘keeper Van der Sar due to his calmness.
Lammens is already working with a goalkeeping great in Real Madrid custodian Thibaut Courtois, still Belgium’s first choice.
But Lammens is hoping to replace Courtois, despite competition from Nottingham Forest’s Matz Sels.
He told Nieusblad: “Well, they’re both clearly above me at the moment.
“But in the coming years, I’m going to try to grab that number one spot with the Red Devils (Belgium’s nickname).
“That’s my goal; that’s why I made the move to United.
“During one of the first matches, (Schmeichel) came to chat on the sidelines. He was very friendly.
“He tried to put me at ease, told me to just do my thing and give my defense confidence.”
