Caymanian semi-professional footballer Molly Kehoe, who plays for Cardiff City Women as a central midfielder, continues to triumph with her team, helping them to a Welsh league and cup double.
The most recent of Kehoe’s team victories is the Bute Energy Welsh Cup, which was held on 27 April. Kehoe, who was a starter on the team, was among her teammates who secured the cup title over Wrexham AFC Women with a final score of 3-1 at the Rodney Parade stadium in Wales.
Earlier this month, Cardiff City Women came out on top in the Genero Adran Premier league for their third-consecutive title win.
Kehoe told the Compass, “Winning the league two years in a row my first two seasons over here is definitely my biggest achievement so far in my career.”

Kehoe, who started playing with the team in 2023, said, “It’s been really good over the past two years. I settled in well and everybody was very welcoming.”
During her football season these past few months, which started 15 Sept. and ended 13 April, Kehoe delivered five goals and nine assists.
She credits her coaches in Cayman, her parents, family and partner as being significant contributing factors to her football career thus far.

To any young Caymanian players who aspire to play football professionally, Kehoe wants to remind them to never give up on their dreams even when they think it may be unrealistic “[because] anything can happen, and things can change very fast”.
With two years in the Welsh league under her belt, she has big hopes for the future.
“I’m looking to see how far I can get. My aspirations are to get into full-time football soon,” she said.
