HE struggled to get a game for Celtic.
But when it comes to playing for his national team Honduras, Luis Palma is an A-list celebrity.
The Celtic winger, currently on loan at Lech Poznan, is a household name in his homeland just like Emilio Izaguirre was when he starred for both the Hoops and Honduras.
But Palma’s reputation seems to go above and beyond as he even has a huge fan over in the USA – a country he has never played in.
The wide-man is currently in the Caribbean ahead of Hunduras’ World Cup qualifier against Haiti in the early hours of Saturday morning UK time.
The Honduras squad arrived in Willmestad, Curaçao last night and the players were greeted by ecstatic fans wanting to catch a glimpse of their heroes.
And there was an American from Boston waiting outside the venue as well – with the hope of meeting on-loan Celtic winger Palma.
It was her lucky day as not only did she get to meet the football star, but she received a special gift from him too.
Palma was happy to oblige the cheeky fan’s request when she asked for his signature – on her chest.
The winger was all smiles as he wrote his initials on the lady’s chest and walked off laughing while she said ‘Oh Luis!’ and started cheering.
Fans nearby laughed and applauded, including the woman’s husband.
Her husband waited behind and even high fived Palma as he walked off.
The American woman was later interviewed by Honduran outlet Diez, where she was labelled ‘Luis Palma‘s number one American fan’.
She confirmed she was in fact waiting to meet Palma outside the team’s hotel.
Palma joined Celtic from Greek side Aris in the summer of 2023 and featured 36 times in all competitions in his first season before losing his place in the team.
He was shipped out on loan to Olympiacos in January and sealed another loan exit this summer when the Polish outfit came calling in July.
Palma has already played nine times for the club and has scored two goals.
