ABERDEEN’S huge European away fixture in Greece today got off the a horror start.
And one Dons star‘s unhappiness was there for all to see after his night came to an early end.
It was just 11 minutes into the fixture at AEK Athens before the hosts took the lead thanks to Aboubakary Koita.
He added a second before the 20 minute mark, then a calamity at the back between Dimitar Mitov and Jack Milne allowed Niclas Eliasson to make it 3-0 to the Greek side before the half-hour mark.
With the game quickly veering towards an embarrassing score line, Jimmy Thelin looked to make an early change to limit the damage.
It was Finnish forward Topi Keskinen who had to make way as he was replaced by on-loan Spurs defender Alfie Dorrington.

The 22-year-old who scored six times last season made it clear he didn’t agree with the decision to remove him from the field of play.
TV cameras followed him as he went to the dugout and delivered a stone faced handshake to his manager.
Keskinen was then seen gesticulating and bellowing towards someone on the bench.
Dante Polvara then had to step in to calm his teammate down and lead him away from the situation.
Heading into the break still down three goals to zero, Thelin again turned to his subs and made two changes for the second half.
Polvara and Ante Palaversa came on as Graeme Shinnie and Adil Aouchiche made way.
But come the 55th minute the home team had added a fourth regardless.
It was never going to be easy after the Dons were drawn into something of a Uefa Conference League group of death.
Last season’s Scottish Cup winners were handed Shakhtar Donetsk, Ligue 1 title competitors Strasbourg, and Sparta Prague in the third tier of European competition.
That came after they were dumped out of the Europa League by FCSB.
In domestic competition there hasn’t been much more luck for Aberdeen either.

While they did recently grab a huge three points deep into injury time against St Mirren, they’re still only barely removed from the foot of the Premiership table.
