IF Kevin Thelwell and Patrick Stewart think that appointing Kevin Muscat will take the heat off of them from Rangers fans, they are in for a rude awakening.
And video footage from the draw against Dundee United has emerged, showing how they and their fellow board members are finding themselves on the end of increasing levels of personal abuse.
Aussie Muscat is expected to take over at Ibrox and Gers fans are hopeful he will have a positive impact on the team.
But the recruitment process has been fraught with issues, with Steven Gerrard, Sean Dyche and Danny Rohl all making it public that they were not interested in the job.
And the latest twist in the tale is that Muscat won’t be able to leave his current job with Shanghai Port until October 31 at the EARLIEST.
In the meantime, the Light Blues squad has been placed under the watch of Under-19s manager Stevie Smith.

His first game in the dugout didn’t go to plan however, as Gers dropped more points at home.
Thelo Aasgaard had given the hosts the lead but they were pegged back by goals from Kristijan Trapanovski and Craig Sibbald gave Dundee United a 2-1 lead with 15 minutes to go.
It took a late strike from James Tavernier to rescue a draw for Gers.
During the period when Rangers were losing, one fan decided enough was enough and recorded himself walking up to the director’s box from his seat in the main stand and then aiming an expletive-laden rant at the board members in attendance.
He could be heard calling the board “f****** nutjobs” and describing the current state of Rangers as a “shambles”.
The furious supporter was eventually dragged away by security.
He said: “This is a shambles mate.
“This is a f****** shambles.
“You better get Muscat in because this is a f****** shambles.
“We’re paying all this money to come and watch this s****.
“You better get your act together, every one of you.
“We’re paying all our money and you’re sitting there in your hierarchy.
“Aye, go get your security guards.
“That’s a f****** shambles mate.
“You better get somebody in and f****** fix this.
“We’ve got an under-19s manager to play against Dundee United at home and if Celtic win tomorrow they go 12 points ahead, you’re f****** deluded man.
“You’re f****** nutjobs.
“These boys are in here and they’re being trained of a f****** under-19s manager.
“Get a f****** grip of yourselves.
“It’s a shambles, every one of yous, get your f****** heads clued up.”
At this point, a member of staff stepped in to try and diffuse the situation as security guards made their way closer to the scene.
But the fan continued: “It doesn’t matter, f*** off mate, we’re getting beat 2-1 off Dundee United at home.
“I pay all my money, season ticket holder, to watch that p***.”
He then directs personal abuse at the security guard and others in the vicinity, calling one “a fat speccy donut.”
