National shotput champion Christopher Johnson has broken his own record in that discipline while also setting a new national record in the Hammer Throw.

Competing for Delaware State at the MEAC Outdoor Championships, Johnson broke his own national record after covering a distance of 16.89 meters, eclipsing the old record of 16.51 meters achieved in February of 2023. Christopoher’s most recent effort was good enough for third place and 1st Team All-American honours.
In the Men’s Hammer Throw, Johnson hurled a 41.59 meters effort, surpassing the former record of 31.82 meters that was held by Lethan Nelson. Nelson achieved his feat in April of 2016. Christopher’s efforts earned him a 2nd Team All-American honour.
