A BRAND-NEW Rangers-themed bar is set to open its doors in the coming days after weeks of anticipation.
Rangers fans have been getting some sneak peeks of the venue – named after an Ibrox legend – ever since the announcement was teased on social media on June 1.
One month later the new Walter’s Bar in Rutherglen will be open to the public.
Named after legendary Rangers manager Walter Smith, the bar has taken over the premises of the former Gorman’s Bar at 33 Queen Street in Rutherglen.
Unlike its predecessor, Walter’s Bar promises to be more than a traditional pub as the owners hope it will become a new hub for Gers fans both on and off matchdays.
It will also honour the Rangers great who managed the club on two separate occasions.

Famous pictures and murals depicting Smith are dotted around the venue as well as at least one of his iconic quotes.
The words “at Rangers you are never more than two defeats away from a crisis” can be seen written on the pub’s ceiling in amongst a sea of blue.
Unsurprisingly that’s the colour that dominates the outside of the venue as well.
Last month the official social media account for the bar teased next week’s launch with a message that read: “Something’s coming to Rutherglen…
“Loud. Loyal. Unapologetically blue.
“This isn’t just a pub – it’s a movement.
“Walter’s Bar is on its way, and we’re not here to whisper about it. We’re here to make noise.”
It could very well be the next hot-spot where many Rangers fans will descend on matchdays before heading to the big games.
Owners of the pub have confirmed there will be a supporters’ bus which will run from the bar to Ibrox before and after home games.
