The Virgin Islands Basketball Federation is pleased to announce that FIBA has unveiled a reimagined format for the 2026 edition of Basketball Without Borders.

The new structure, titled “BWB Next Up,” will consist of one annual boys’ camp and one annual girls’ camp, each bringing together the top 80 prospects from outside the United States.
These elite camps will replace the previous regional BWB model. The top-performing athletes from the “BWB Next Up” camps will earn selection to the prestigious BWB All-Star camps, held in conjunction with the NBA and AT&T WNBA All-Star events.
The Virgin Islands Basketball Federation has been granted the opportunity to submit nominations for the most promising young players from within the Virgin Islands. This is a critical pathway for our island talent to gain international exposure and compete alongside the best prospects from around the globe born in the year 2009.
Nomination Requirements:
Copies of player’s passport
Game footage
Relevant background information (stats, accolades, etc.)
Important Notes:
All submissions will be thoroughly reviewed by the VIBF.
Due to the highly competitive selection process, FIBA/NBA may not be able to invite every nominated player.
The FIBA/NBA selection committee reserves the right to include athletes who may not have been formally nominated.
Final decisions will be based on multiple criteria, including positional balance and equitable representation across National Federations.
Deadline: All nominations must be submitted by April 24.
This is a transformative opportunity for our young athletes to showcase their talent on one of basketball’s biggest stages. We encourage coaches, families, and community members to identify and nominate the best our islands have to offer.
