EITHER FAIRBAINE UNITED or RSVG Police will secure the winners’ trophy and cash prize in the 2025 Caesar’s Real Estate Greiggs Nar Fren Dem 20/20 Softball Cricket Competition, set for this Sunday, December 14.
RSVG POLICE, are also looking to secure the winners’ trophy and cash prize in the 2025 Caesar’s Real Estate Greiggs Nar Fren Dem 20/20 Softball Cricket Competition
The two are slated to battle for supremacy from 2:30 p.m, at the Greiggs Central Playing Field.
Fairbaine United reached the finals, after a 7- wicket win overYung Stars last Sunday, December 7.
Batting first,Yung Stars piled on 172 from their 20 overs, led by a top score of 54 from Darren John.
Jeremy Haywood scalped 4 for 19, bowling for Fairbaine United.Yung Stars’ bowlers were unable to contain the Fairbaine United’s batting, as they replied comfortably with 175 for 3 from 14.2 overs. Andrew Glasgow contributed 64.
In Sunday’s other semifinal, RSVG Police outdid Sion Hill Tallawahs, also by seven wickets.
A late start occasioned a reduction in the overs to 17, from which Sion Tallawahs posted 150 for 7.
Their total saw Denson Hoyte hitting 41.
Bowling for RSVG Police, Julian Dalzell picked off 2 for 20.
RSVG Police then got to 151 for 3 from 14.1 overs. Desron Maloney struck 65. Sunday’s action-packed day will also see the finals of the over 40s competition featuring Saga Chiefs and Icons, from 10:30 a.m, with the third place play off between Sion Hill Tallawahs andYung Stars slated for 1:00 p.m.
A closing and presentation ceremony take place after the final game.
This year’s competition was without regular winners- Country Meet Town Out Ah Trouble.
Out Ah Trouble have been winners of every edition since 2018, save and except when there was no competition in 2020 and 2021- a total of five titles.
