A total of 25 goals were scored across four games in the Cool & Smooth/Joma Caribbean Schools Football Competition on Thursday with defending champions in the Under-20 Boys’ Division, Princess Margaret School (PMS) the biggest winners after recording a massive 13-nil victory over newcomers, Pares Secondary School.
The men from PMS were led by Mekhi Phillip who recorded a haul with strikes in minutes 12, 18, 28 and 32 while there were braces from Shumba Thomas in minutes 55 and 70, Roshan Samuel in minutes 61 and 65 and Malik Samuel in minutes 5 and 33. Mario Lewis (45), Zadier Forde (31) and Shamar Walters (60) all had single strikes in the huge win.
There was victory as well for the Sir Novelle Richards Academy as they beat Irene B Williams Secondary 3-1. Isjaunti Isidore (6), Casean Dennis (57) and Agieano Williams (73) were all on target for the winners. Nequan Tanner scored the only goal for Irene B Williams with a 75th minute goal.
Also in the U20 division, Harrison Center enjoyed a 4-0 win over Jennings Secondary School.
There were single strikes from Adonijah Dyett in the fifth, Khadeel Greene in minute 27, Romario Christian in minute 35 and Aafique Edwards in minute 43 for the winners.
In the lone Girls Under-20 fixture contested Thursday, Jennings Secondary edged Harrison Center 2-1. Abigail McDonald led with a brace for the winners, striking in minutes 26 and 29 while Latoya Williams scored in the 21st. Adisha Carram, in the sixth minute, had given Harrison Center the advantage.
