The second annual Connect by Nova Pickleball Tournament generated more than $7,500, directly supporting its mission to help Caymanians achieve long-term career success.
Pickleball players gathered on 25 Sept. for an afternoon filled with friendly competition, fun and connection, while raising funds through player entry fees and a community raffle.
“Pickleball is about connection – it’s fast, fun and inclusive – and that’s exactly what Connect is about too,” said Jasmine Zerjal, voluntary head of events for Connect in a press release.
“This tournament not only gave players a chance to showcase their talents and enjoy the game but also provided the perfect opportunity to meet new people, catch up with friends and get back on the exercise wagon.
“Most importantly, it allowed us to speak directly with supporters about the services Connect provides, and to remind everyone that we are entirely reliant on voluntary donations to continue helping Caymanians access career opportunities and build skills that benefit the entire community,” she said.

Designed to be social and welcoming, the tournament accepted players of all abilities, pairing individual sign-ups into teams.
The Sunrise Adult Training Centre assembled goodie bags for the players, adding a “special touch” to the event.
“Funds raised will go directly towards Connect’s programmes, which bridge Caymanian talent and local businesses, spanning training, mentorship, and internships, and helping employers attract, retain, and develop local talent,” the release stated.
