The Princess Margaret School (PMS) were in a no nonsense mood on Saturday blasting Jennings Secondary School 4-1 in the Cool & Smooth/Joma Caribbean Boys U-14 football competition at the Keithley Sheppard Recreational Park on Saturday.
In the only cup that evaded them last year, the contenders were dominant from start to finish with four different players finding the back of the net.
With all goals being in the first half of the match, Allan Henry opened the scoring in the 5th minute before Colin Wright doubled the advantage just a minute later. Wright wasn’t done there, adding his second goal in the 16th minute to complete his brace. Marcus Thomas also got on the scoresheet in the 16th minute, while Jennings’ Elreekk Francis pulled one back for the visitors, scoring in the 20th minute.
In a closely contested match, defending Champions Antigua Grammar School narrowly defeated St. Joseph’s Academy 2-1. Jonathan Duberry gave AGS the perfect start with a goal in the opening minute, and despite Taariq Roberts pulling one back for SJA in the 4th minute, Tamarey Henry’s strike in the 40th minute secured all three points for AGS.
Clare Hall Secondary School secured a clean 2-0 victory over Sir Novelle Richards Academy, thanks to a stellar performance from Tevon Henderson. The forward scored in both the 24th and 40th minutes to earn the brace and deliver the victory for his team.
The remaining two fixtures were decided by defaults. All Saints Secondary School was awarded a 3-0 victory after Sir McChesney George Secondary School failed to field a team. Similarly, Pares Secondary School received a 3-0 default win over Ottos Comprehensive School.
