FORMER Liverpool midfielder Fabinho has been called up to the Brazil national team for the first time in three years.
The 32-year-old last appeared for the Selecao during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
He served as a back-up to Casemiro throughout the tournament and made just one appearance – in a 1-0 loss to Cameroon.
Fabinho spent the rest of the 2022-23 season with Liverpool before joining Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad in a permanent transfer.
The midfielder has since established himself as a first team regular for the club.
In 12 appearances so far this season, Fabinho has scored once and provided two assists.

And now, the former Liverpool star has earned a recall to the national team.
He will play for the first time under Carlo Ancelotti when Brazil take on Senegal and Tunisia in friendlies later this month.
Casemiro, Lucas Paqueta, Richarlison, Bruno Guimaraes and Gabriel Magalhaes are among the Premier League stars called up to the Brazil squad.
However, Neymar – who recently suffered a hamstring injury – has been left out once again.

Ancelotti said: “Neymar can play at his highest level in this team without any problems.
“When he is in good physical condition, he has the quality to play not only in Brazil but in any team in the world because of his talent.”
Asked about his absence, Ancelotti continued: “I haven’t spoken to him again. We’ll see when he recovers and starts playing again.”
Should Fabinho make an appearance for Brazil this month, it will be his 30th for the national team.
The midfielder previously spent five years with Liverpool and made 219 appearances.
During that time he scored 11 goals and provided 11 assists.
He also won the Premier League, the Champions League, the FA Cup and the League Cup.
Reacting to his involvement, one fan took to X to write: “Prime Fabinho running it back.”
