By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Progresso FC hit the road to Dangriga on Sunday morning for a pivotal matchup against Wagiya SC at the Carl Ramos Stadium. Kickoff is set for 4:00 pm.

After Verdes FC edged Belmopan FC 1–0 on Saturday in Benque Viejo del Carmen, the Cayo-based side climbed to eight points—equal with Progresso—and took first place on goal differential (+8 to Progresso’s +7). All teams, including Progresso, have now played four matches.
A draw would be enough to lift Progresso back to the top of the table, though Verdes would still hold the edge in efficiency, having one game in hand. A win, however, would give Progresso sole possession of first place with a three-point cushion heading into the next set of fixtures.

Wagiya, meanwhile, are still searching for their first win of the season. With just one point from four outings, they’ll be looking to build on their recent 0–0 draw against Verdes and take advantage of home turf.
Elsewhere in the weekend’s action, Capital Sports Club (Benque Viejo United) and Port Layola played to a 2–2 draw in Belmopan on Saturday, keeping the mid-table race tight. Port Layola remain fifth with five points, while the White Lions earned their first point.
