THIS is the moment an SPFL striker turned into prime Zlatan Ibrahimovic or Olivier Giroud – by scoring one of the best goals you’ll see in Scotland this season.
Montrose hitman Ewan Loudon will struggle to ever replicate his strike from Saturday’s Challenge Cup win over Aberdeen B.
The 22-year-old still has years left in his career but it’s unlikely he’ll ever top that moment – after beating opposition goalie Theo Simpson with a back-heeled scissor kick from close range.
Montrose maintained their perfect start to their Challenge Cup campaign with their 3-1 win over the young Dons side.
It was the Aberdeen side that opened the scoring early doors through Ryan Duncan, but their lead was typically cancelled out by former Pittodrie youth star Evan Towler on the 33rd minute.
Then Loudon fired his team in front for the first time just six minutes later in perfect style.

Loudon was lurking in the Aberdeen box when Brazilian midfielder Matheus Machado picked him out with an almost inch-perfect cross from the right flank.
The ball flew in and it dropped just behind the striker‘s path, but that didn’t matter.
The 22-year-old adjusted his position and swung his right foot behind him to connect with the ball with his heel.
It left the 16-year-old goalkeeper with no chance as it caught everyone by surprise and flew into the top left corner and out of his reach.
The home crowd at Links Park erupted and some of Loudon’s couldn’t believe their eyes as they looked stunned and had their heads in their hands in disbelief.
Montrose clipped the goal and posted it on social media with the caption: “That is special. 🔥⚽️
“On a scale of 1–10, where does yesterday’s strike from our No.9 land for you? Only Loudon could pull this out the bag 😍”
The goal has since went viral with Scottish football fans dubbing it the strike of the season already.
Reacting on X, One ecstatic punter said: “Puskas incoming
@MontroseFC.”
Another agreed: “That has to get a Puskas nomination.”
Someone else commented: “A Puskas contender at Montrose?!”
While a fourth added: “Fair play, that’s outrageous.”
